Volvo Group in the spotlight at SAMOTER 2008
Volvo Group is pleased to announce its participation at the next Samoter Exhibition to be held in Verona from March 5 to 9, 2008. Samoter is the premier Italian and European expo for Volvo equipment and a showcase for the latest models of Volvo Construction Equipment, the partnership with Volvo Trucks, and services offered to companies. More than 3,000 square meters of exhibition space confirm the quality of a brand that has recently celebrated its 80th anniversary.

Volvo Group has broken all records with its participation in the next Samoter 2008, the international construction equipment show, with an exhibition space in Pavilion 7, Stand C3/C7 - D3/D7 of more than 3,000 square meters and an outside area of 130 square meters. Volvo Group's participation represents the most effective and complete synergy between its products -- equipment for transportation, extraction, loading, and handling -- and a growing assortment of solutions for post-sales, rental, used equipment, and financial services. Technology remains in the forefront both in terms of engine development and long-term engineering research projects for construction equipment and trucks.

Volvo Group is one of the world's top producers of commercial transportation vehicles and equipment. Trucks, buses, construction equipment, transmission systems for industrial and marine applications, and parts for aeronautic engines are key elements of international transportation networks that work around the clock 365 days a year. Volvo Group also provides financial services to its clients. The group has 83,000 employees, production units in 18 countries, and sales reps in nearly 180 countries. Volvo Group is also the world's largest producer of heavy duty diesel engines in the 9 to 18 liter category.

Volvo Construction Equipment Italia S.p.A. (www.volvoce.it) was established on May 27, 2005, by Volvo Construction Equipment Europe to be able to satisfy the specific needs of its clients on the Italian market. By opening the local company, Volvo Group wanted to introduce the values of the Swedish brand - quality, safety, and environmental care - to Italy and provide an unprecedented range of products on the market. Today Volvo CE Italia has achieved total sales and technical coverage of Italy through its 24 dealers, 45 authorized garages, and new branches about to open in Rome, Milan, Udine, Parma and Bolzano, which will join the other branches in Livorno, Bassano and Rome. The creation of the Special Markets and Paving Divisions has allowed the company to enter strategic new sectors for its products, and services such as Rental and Used Machinery will also be expanded. The 50,000 square meter Volvo Logistics Center, inaugurated in October 2007 at Carmi S.p.A. in Castel Bolognese (RA), is extremely important for the services offered by Volvo CE Italia: besides its display of Large Equipment and Special equipment, it also has a Used Equipment Center, a permanent Training Center for Volvo mechanics, and a Testing Center. The spare parts warehouse in Anzola (BO) provides spare parts to service centers to fully satisfy client requests. As of present, the company has achieved a turnover of 130 million euros, with more than 1,600 pieces of equipment sold, and has 90 employees. Compared to 2006, there has been a 30% increase in sales for large equipment and a 15% increase for compact equipment.

Volvo Trucks (www.volvotrucks.it), which has been doing business in Italy since 1977, distributes its products and services through a network of 15 dealers and 3 Volvo Truck Centers based in Bergamo, Trento, and Venice. A new Volvo Truck Center will be inaugurated shortly in Sommacampagna (Verona). The Zingonia site is also home to the Training Center, which mainly provides training and brush-up courses to the sales and technical staffs of its dealerships and authorized garages. In Italy Volvo Trucks sells models FL, FE, FM, and FH, and the flagship Volvo FH16 with 540 to 660 CV engines. The Volvo Trucks Assistance network is composed of more than 100 authorized garages. Around-the-clock assistance is ensured by Volvo Action Service, which is available throughout Europe.

Indoor Area: Pavilion 7, Stand C3\C4 - D3\D7. Outdoor Area
Among the new Volvo all-purpose wheel loaders on display will also be the star of the F Series: the completely new L350F. Productivity, reliability, and operator comfort have been improved, and now the L350F is the ultimate wheel loader. Lower fuel consumption is one of the biggest improvements. Although its engine is bigger than the L330E's (the last model which is also an energy-saving market leader), the L350F is even more efficient than its predecessor.

One of the stars of the new C Series of wheeled and crawled excavators on display is the ECR145CL reduced swing crawled excavator. Thanks to its short rotation radius, the ECR145CL can work in confined areas with limited space, which means greater productivity, better performance, greater durability, lower fuel consumption. The cab with a new more rounded shape provides more space for the operator because the compact design remains within the counterweight rotation radius. For the demolition segment there is the crawler excavator EC235CNL Standard Demolition and the EC700B on display in the outdoor area.

The EC35C compact excavator, the ECR48C and the ECR88 Plus reduced swing excavators, the L45B TPS compact wheel loader, and the BL71 Plus backhoe loader will be shown for the compact equipment segment.
Other products on display include the A40E for the new E Series dumpers and the G940 grader, which is already a great success and joins the new range of paving equipment.

Road construction and compactor equipment on display includes the Volvo Titan 6870 wheeled paver and the Volvo SD105DX, DD24, and DD95 soil and asphalt compactors.

Ample space will be devoted to Volvo CE Italia's Post-Sales service. Its technicians, specialists, and Help Desks provide clients with accurate service right from the moment that they buy Volvo equipment, with correct and fast management of spare parts and assistance with warranties and technical matters.

Volvo Trucks will also present heavy duty trucks for use on construction sites: its flagship Volvo FH16 64T 580 cv Euro 4 SCR, tractor trailer for transporting heavy loads such as construction site machinery, a Volvo FM84R 440 cv Euro 4 EGR Tridem, the Volvo FM 84R 480 cv SCR Euro 5 with VEB+ exhaust brake and Powertronic shift, a Volvo FM 84R 480 cv Euro 4 SCR and VEB+ with bed for carrying marble blocks, and the Volvo FL 42R 280 cv Euro 4 with dump truck and crane.

Volvo Group arrives at Samoter 2008 with a complete range of products and services that add value to the key elements that have made it famous around the globe: Quality, Safety, and Environmental care.

See you in Verona!
