2028: the frontiers of earth moving (*)

Wednesday 5 March, 15.00-17.00
Puccini Hall Arena Conference Centre

(*) Event with simultaneous translation service

The earth moving machinery sector has always been one of the cardinal points in infrastructural development and is generally viewed as a sector involving significant inertia as regards innovation. Its technological profile, in recent years, has nevertheless taken on many different and very interesting connotations, thanks to the massive introduction of electronics, new materials:, renewed interest in space exploration and changes in the international economic scenario. This meeting, through qualified opinions, seeks to highlight the best opportunities - as well as the challenges and possible difficulties - that one can expect over the next twenty years.

Programme
14.45 Registration of participants
15.00 Talk show with:
  • Roberto Paoluzzi, First Researcher Imamoter-Cnr - President of the ISO/TC 127/SC4 Technical Committee
Technologies likely to be developed over the next twenty years (new materials and nanocoating, independent systems, artificial vision and adaptive controls, remote operators, modular functional elements, alternative drive systems)
  • Lutz Richter, (DLR) - Designer of several recent rover systems for exploration of Mars.
Prospects linking exploration of other planets with construction activity. Possible technological impact of space research. Specific mobility problems in a hostile environment and remote control of operations. The campaign to conquer the Moon initiated technological fall-out lasting twenty years. Will the same thing also happen for Mars?
  • Secondo Rolfo, Director Ceris - Cnr
Evolution of macro-economic scenarios and effects on scientific and technological development. Globalisation and sustainability as an impulse or brake on technological development. Economic tools for guiding and promoting S&T research.
  • reports by sector operators and leading companies
  • Carlo Sighicelli, Product Marketing Manager New Holland Construction
Coordinated by COMAMOTER (Earth moving machinery manufacturers), CANTIERMACCHINE (Union of Importers and Distributors of site Machinery) and Imamoter (National Research Council Institute for Agricultural and Earth Moving Machinery) in collaboration with VeronaFiere.
